On Friday November 12, 2010 we’re taking part in a tribute night at The Wilmington Arms, called It’s A Wonderful Night, with profits from the evening going to Mind, the UK charity dedicated to promoting mental health (http://www.Mind.org.uk).
The night will be an evening of music in honour of the late Mark Linkous, the creative force behind Sparklehorse who sadly passed away in March of this year.
Artists/bands will be playing covers of his songs and along with the occasional song either influenced by Sparklehorse or one of their own compositions arranged in the style of a Sparklehorse tune. We’re working on a couple of covers at the moment but in fear of jinxing them probably best not to say which…
Ticket info.
Entry will be a charity donation of £3 (or more if you’re feeling flush) and you can buy them in advance online now by donating here: http://www.justgiving.com/Sparklehorsenight (If you’re a UK tax payer and choose gift aid, you’re donation will cost you the same but the government will contribute a bit extra to Mind through a charity tax incentive).
